PANEER CHOCO MODAK

Paneer choco modak is another variety of modak which i made today for the ganesh festival.  as much as recipes, i have tried to post for the benefit of viewers.  Hope you all will enjoy this festival by making atleast one or two from this lot.

For making paneer choco modak, we need chena, cocoa powder and milk made.  If you wish you can use some dry fruits, choco chips, scraped chocolates etc.   The sugar level i have maintained according to our requirement.  If you need more of sweet, can increase the quantity of milk made or add little sugar.

Ingredients:

1 cup chena
1/4 cup milk made
less than 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
3 tbsp cocoa powder
dry fruits chopped
choco chips or scraped chocolates (optional)

Method:

After preparing chena, knead the same to a smooth paste.  .
Put it in a non stick pan and stir well till it is dried up.
add the milk made and stir well till it is dried up again.
add the cocoa powder and stir well till a mass is formed.
remove from the pan and allow to cool for two minutes.
when it is warm and you are able to bare the heat, knead again.
Add the choco chips or chocolates if you are adding at this stage.
take small portion of the same roll it in between your palm and keep aside.

take modak mould, ( no need to grease as it comes out clean from the mould) apply little dough on both the sides, place some dry fruits in the middle and close the lid.  press from the bottom, if required add  some more and level it from the bottom.
open the mould, take out the modak and place it on a plate.

12 modaks can be made with the above quantity of  small size modak as shown in the picture.

Variation:  Instead of  milk made, add sugar free for diet control people.  In this case, you have to mix sugar and paneer, heat only for 5 minutes.  Ensure that the paneer is free from whey absolutely.

THANKS FOR VISITING THE BLOG.  YOUR SUGGESTIONS ARE MOST WELCOME.
