MOONGDAL DANGAR PACHADI

Urid dal danger is a Maharashtrian dish prepared with the roasted urad dal flour.  I happened to taste this  yesterday when my colleague brought this during lunch time in the dining hall.  I had it with Methi Paratha and really it was awesome.

It is a simple recipe with the urid dal flour mixed with some onion, lime juice, coriander leaves, hing powder etc.  This recipe shall be posted soon.  First I am posting the Pachadi / Raita recipe.

When I was discussing this recipe with another friend of mine Shubha, she said we used to make pachadi out of this and she shared the recipe with me.

Since I wanted to avoid urid dal due to some gastric issues, I tried it with the Moongdal and it was quite tasty though I am trying this dish for the first time.

I hope you will also enjoy this dish as much as I enjoyed, sharing the same here for you.

MIRCHI KA RAITA

Mirchi ka raita is prepared with the large green chilli or bharwan mirch it is known as.  We can make nice bhajias out of this stuffed with potato masala.

When I saw the fresh green chilli with the veg vendor, I could not resist myself from buying this.  However, I made it with only one chilli and rest, i used for bhajias.  This goes well with rice as well as parathas.  I had made green peas paratha and served with it.

I forgot to take the photo separately of the  Al  Yakhni.  It is with the  Kashmiri pulao.

PINEAPPLE RAITA

Normally, some people do not like to eat pineapple because after eating, it irriates the throat for some.  My daughter does not like it for this reason.  Pineapples are consumed fresh, cooked, juiced, and preserved, and are found in a wide array of  cuisines.    Pineapples are loaded with vitamin A and C, fiber, potassium, phosphorous and calcium. Pineapples are a great source of bromelain which help prevent sinusitis. Pineapples are also effective in curing sore throat, gout and swellings.

Pineapple raita is very tasty can be served with paratha, rice varieties.  I always prefer to have just raita as I am fond of it.

It is very easy to make, a quick raita provided u have the ingredients at home.
