FRIED MODAKS

After making a steamed variety of modaks, make some fried variety during this festival and enjoy. Also seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha.  Fried modak is made out fava, maida, milk and dry coconut.

Let us look at the recipe now:

Ingredients:

1 bowl super fine rava (semolina suji)
1 bowl maida
milk as required to knead the flour
2 bowls of grated dry coconut
1 bowl powdered sugar
1 tsp cardamom powder
rice powder for dusting
ghee/oil for frying.

Method:

In a mikxing bowl add two tablespoon of ghee, rava, maida and knead to a stiff dough using milk and keep aside.
Now make the filling using dry coconut, sugar, and cardamom powder and keep aside.
Take lemon sized balls out of the dough and make puris out of it.
Keep the filling in it and shape into modak and deep fry in the ghee on a very low heat.
