I am here again with another recipe of modak. It is very easy to make. You need chutney dal, sugar, ghee and cardamom powder, ginger powder etc. This can be prepared in advance and stored in airtight containers separately. Since it needs little space, you cannot keep one on top of the other. adjust the same accordingly as shown in the picture and handle carefully.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup chutney dal
1/2 cup powdered sugar
3-4 cardamom
12-13 tsp of ghee
Method:
clean the chutney dal. Put in the mixer along with the cardamom and powder it in the mixer.
add the powdered sugar and mix well.
now slowly add the ghee and mix in it
when you take out a handful of mixture and press it, it should be binding, should not break that is the right consistency for making the modak.
Now take a modak mould. Open it, place a plastic sheet as shown in the video. I am aware that plastic not be used. But for easy and faster preparation, i adopted this method. fill the powder on both the sides and press it. fill from the bottom side too and press again. slowly open the mould and take out the modak. repeat the process for the remaining mix and store it.
This can be prepared in advance and served during any occasion.
Variation: You can prepare maa laddo with this mixture. You can add dry ginger powder too and dry fruits while making laddoo.

SUGAR FREE VERSION
Instead of powdered sugar, you can use 6-8 tsp sugar free and make it.
