MATKI SUNDAL, MATKI CHUNDAL, MOTH BEANS SUNDAL, MOTH BEANS CHUNDAL

During navrathi, some people display kolu, golu  and invite all for tamboolam, vettilapaku. Married ladies and kanyas are served with the variety of sundals along with vettilapaku.  Here is another variety of Sundal for you.




Let us have a look at the recipe now:


Ingredients:


1 cup Matki (Moth Beans)
3tbs Grated coconut
1-2 een chilli
A small piece of ginger
Few curry leaves
A pinch of turmeric powder
Salt

Seasoning


4 bsp Oil
1 tsp Mustard seeds
1 tsp Urid dal
1 Red chilli broken into pieces
Few curry leaves
Hing (Asafoetida) powder



Method:


1. Cook the matki directly in a vessel. You can also pressure cook the same but should ensure that the same is not overcooked. .
2. In a kadai, heat oil, add the mustard seeds, urid dal, chilli. When it splutters and the urid dal becomes slightly brown, add the curry leaves and hing powder.
3. Mix the matki and saute well.
4. coarsely grind the coconut, green chilli in mixer and add to the moth beans.
5. Saute for a minute and transfer to a bowl.
