VEGGIE OATS

Oat meal in the morning is quite filling at the same time helps in reducing the bad cholestrol level as well as good for diabetic, heart diseases etc.  Normally, I used to cook the oats in water and add some milk and sugar with some dry fruits in it for the children.  They used to love this  as their breakfast in the morning.

We can also prepare the oats umpa, uttappa, dosa, or with some veggies which is also good for health and filling.     It helps in reducing the cholesterol, risk of diabetic, good for heart and boost the immune system.  You can go through the health-benefits-of-oats.html here.

Let us look at the recipe now:

Preparation time: 10 minutes.
cooking time: 10 minutes
serves: 1

Ingredients:


1-2 tbsp oats
1 cup water
3 tbsp curd (fresh) not sour
1/2 cup vegetables chopped viz. beans, carrots, green peas and corn.
lessthan 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
less than 1/4 tsp chaat masala
coriander leaves chopped
salt as per taste.

Method:

1.  Cook oats and vegetables separately with little salt. (carrot, beans, peas, corn etc)
2.  Mix the oats and vegetables and boil for a minute
3.  Add the curd and remove from gas
4.  Add black pepper powder, chaat masala mix well.
5.  Check the salt and add if required.
6.  Garnish with coriander leaves.



How to serve:

serve hot with curd, papad or pickle.
