MASOOR SPROUTS SUBZI

Sprouts can be added in salad or make subzi out of it.   Sprouting is the practice of germinatingseeds to be eaten raw or cooked.  This can be prepared at home.  Sprouts are said to be rich in digestible energy, bioavailable vitamins, minerals, amino acids, proteins etc.  These nutrients are essential for the human body.

MASOOOR SPROUTS SUBZI













 Let us look at the recipe now:

Ingredients:

1/4 kg masoor sprouts
1 big onion finely chopped
1 tsp dhania (coriander seeds)
1 red chilli
1/4 cup grated coconut
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
2 tbsp fresh cream
turmeric powder
salt
2 tsp oil

Method:

1.  Chop the onion and keep aside.
2.  Fry the onion, dhania, red chilli, cumin seeds in 1 tsp oil
3.  Add coconut and saute for 2 minutes
4.  Grind to a paste and keep aside.



5.  In a kadai, heat oil, add the masoor sprouts and saute for 5 minutes
6.  Add 1 cup water, salt, turmric powder and cook till tender.
7.  Add the ground masala in it, boil for 2 minutes, adjust the gravy consistency according to your requirement. and switch off gas.

add the fresh cream and mix well.  garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

How to serve;

serve hot with chapati, rice, upma, appam etc.
