POTATO TOMATO SABJI l ALOO TAMATAR SABJI

Potato Tomato Sabji can be served along with Chapati, Phulka and with Dhuska also.  Yes, this is served along with the Jhakand special recipe called Dhuska.  I prepared this subji only for pairing with this today.

Aloo Tamatar Sabji l Potato Tomato Sabji



Let us look at the recipe now:

Time taken: 30 minutes
Serves: 1-2

Ingredients:


1 Potato boiled
1 Tomato grilled
1 Onion chopped
A small piece of ginger
1 Green chilli
1/4 Tsp Red Chilli Powder
1/4 Tsp Coriander Powder
1/4 Tsp Garam Masala
Salt
Pinch of Turmeric Powder

Tempering:

1 Tsp Oil
1/2 Tsp Cumin Seeds
Pinch of Asafoetida

Method:

Step 1

Peel the  boiled Potato and mash it.  Grind the Grilled tomato after removing the skin along with Green Chilli, Cumin seeds, Ginger, Onion  to a smooth paste.

Step 2

Heat oil in Kadai.  Put the Cumin seeds and asafoetida.  Add the ground paste and cook till the water is completely dried up.  Add the Red Chilli Powder, Coriander Powder, Turmeric Powder, Salt.  Saute for few minutes.   Add the mashed Potato and add water and bring to boil.  Add water according to your requirement.  If you want it in a gravy form, add water accordingly.  When it is cooked for 5 minutes, add the Garam Masala Powder, mix well.  The subji is ready.

How to serve:

Serve hot with chopped Coriander leaves.
