SOUP
Banana stem
soup is made with banana stems and little barley. Banana stem and the barley has got various
medicinal properties. Banana stem juice
consumed in the empty stomach in the morning cures kidney stone. Barley water
is given when fever is there and helps in flushing out the toxins from the body
through urine.
Ingredients:
1 cup banana
stem finely chopped
1 tbsp
barley
2 tbsp
finely chopped beans
1 tbsp
grated carrots
½ lemon
1 tsp ghee
Chaat
masala, black pepper powder, black salt, salt as per taste.
Coriander,
mint leaves ½ tsp
Method:
Wash both
barley and banana stem and pressure cook the same with water above the level of
banana stem.
In the
meanwhile, heat ghee and sauté the chopped beans, it should be crunchy.
When the
pressure comes down, grind the cooked
banana barley in a mixer. Strain the
same and discard the portion in the strainer.
Add one cup of water and boil the soup.
Remove from
the gas, add the beans, carrots, chaat masala, black salt, salt, pepper powder,
lime juice, mix well. Garnish with mint/coriander leaves and serve hot.
NOTE: You can also use onion, fresh cream etc.
