TRICOLOUR DOSA, TIRANGA DOSA
Four days ahead of Independence day, I am posting tiranga dosa or tricolour dosa. We can make various items viz. idli, dosa, rice, halva, sabdudana, burfi, dhokla etc.
this dosa is made with normal dosa batter by adding tomato for orange colour, coriander for green colour. you can use carrots, gun powder and dill leaves, palak also. I have uploaded this recipe in you tube http://youtu.be/ZqqxveRkcJw

Ingredients:
three different bowls of dosa batter.
FOR ORANGE COLOUR
1 tomato, 1/4 tsp cumin seeds, a small piece of jaggery, 1 tbs tur dal, a pinch of asafoetida
FOR WHITE COLOUR
normal batter
FOR GREEN COLOUR
handful of coriander leaves, 1/4 tsp cumin seeds, 1 green chilli, 1 small pieces of ginger
Method:
Soak the tur dal for 15 minutes. grind together the tomato cumin seeds, jaggery, tur dal asafoetida and mix with the one bowl of dosa batter. since dosa batter contains salt already, adjust salt accordingly.
similarly, grind the green coriander, cumin seeds, green chilli, ginger and add to another bowl of dosa batter.
Heat a non stick tava, pour oil and wipe with a kitchen towel.
first pour half laddle of orange batter
then white batter
then the green batter
drizzle some oil
when cooked, flip the same to cook the other side too
repeat the process till the batter gets over.
Your tiranga dosa is ready.
Variation: You can make this dosa with plain rice batter also.
