RIBBON PAKODA, PAKODA, NADA,

Normally, ribbon pakodas are made with rice flour and gram flour.  But my friend Jayashree shared some pakodas made by her and it was very crispy.  when i checked with her how she made it, she shared the recipe with me which i am sharing with you all.

It is yet another crispy item  which is made by all South Indians for festival time or on normal days, can be served with tea or coffee as a snack or with sambar rice or rasam rice ( i love to eat like this) or dal rice.

Coming to the point of making it and shall have a look at the recipe quickly.

Ingredients:

2 cups rice flour
1/2 cup dalia powder (chutney dal powder) Pottukadala podi or besan (gram flour)
2 tbsp butter
4 tsp chilli powder (add as per your requirement.)
1/4 tsp asafoetida
salt to taste
oil for frying

Method:

In a vessel, add all the ingredients and mix well except the oil.  Add water and make a pliable dough.  Take handful of dough and put it in the chakli maker.  Press it in circular motion one layer and above that one more you can make it.  fry them in hot oil till crispy.  Place  it in the absorbent paper to  remove excess oil.

In the chakli maker, you should use the plate, (achu) with long line in it as shown in the picture.

Store it in the airtight container.
