Sheera is
made out of suji/rava with milk and sugar.
It is a very good dish for
breakfast as well as evening snacks. My
daughter on every Thursday, she takes the same in the tiffin box and I happily
make this being the day of Krishna and Sai Baba for Prasad too. Normally, it is made for the Satyanarayana
Pooja and we all love to eat the same with bananas and lots of dry fruits in
it.
Let us have
a look at the recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup
rava/suji/semolina
1 cup
clarified butter (ghee)
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
¼ tsp
cardamom powder
2 tbs
Chopped dry fruits
7-8 cashews
broken
A pinch of
saffron
1 banana
finely chopped.
Method:
Heat ghee in
a kadai.
Fry the
kajus and keep aside.
In the same
ghee add the rava and roast it till it changes the colour to brown.
Add the
milk, sugar, saffron and keep on
stirring it continuously. Ensure that no
lumps are formed in it.
Cook the
same till it starts leaving the sides of the kadai. add the cardamom powder.
Serve hot or
cold as you wish with chopped dry fruits and banana
