SHEERA

Sheera is made out of suji/rava with milk and sugar.  It is a very good dish  for breakfast as well as evening snacks.   My daughter on every Thursday, she takes the same in the tiffin box and I happily make this being the day of Krishna and Sai Baba for Prasad too.   Normally, it is made for the Satyanarayana Pooja and we all love to eat the same with bananas and lots of dry fruits in it.

Let us have a look at the recipe

Ingredients:

1 cup rava/suji/semolina
1 cup clarified butter (ghee)
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
¼ tsp cardamom powder
2 tbs Chopped dry fruits
7-8 cashews broken
A pinch of saffron
1 banana finely chopped.

Method:

Heat ghee in a kadai.
Fry the kajus and keep aside.
In the same ghee add the rava and roast it till it changes the colour to brown.
Add the milk, sugar, saffron  and keep on stirring it continuously.  Ensure that no lumps are formed in it.
Cook the same till it starts leaving the sides of the kadai. add the cardamom powder.
Serve hot or cold as you wish with chopped dry fruits and banana
