RAW BANANA PARATHA (KACHE KELE KI PARATHA), VAZHAKAI PARATHA, VAZHAKKA PARATHA
Kache kele ik paratha or raw banana paratha or vazhakka paratha you name it anything, it is a lovely paratha with curd, sugar and pickle, i love it. This partha is made with some oats, masalas, chopped onion etc.
Parathas can be made with aloo, radish, carrot etc. etc. Raw banana
is very low in Saturated Fat, Cholesterol and Sodium. It is also a good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin C, Potassium and Manganese, and a very good source of Vitamin B6.
The bad: A large portion of the calories in this food come from sugars
Total time taken: 1 hr
Yield : 8 parathas
Ingredients:
2 raw bananas
1 cup wheat flour
2 tbsp oats
2 tbsp chopped onion
1 tbsp dhania powder
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp garam masala
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp roasted cumin powder
1/4 tsp dry mango powder
1/4 tsp oregano
salt
1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
oil or ghee
OPTIONAL
1/2 tsp sesame seeds (black or white)
1/2 tsp kalonji (onion seeds)
2 tbsp fresh cream
1 cheese slice (i used amul cheese)
Method:
Pressure cook the raw banana with sufficient water in the cooker for 4-5 whistles.
when the pressure comes down, remove the bananas from the water, remove the skin and smash it immediately without any lumps in it.
Add the wheat flour and mix well and keep aside for 5 minutes.
Now add all the masalas, wheat flour, coriander leaves, chopped onion, salt and make a dough out of it. You can add cream and cheese if you are using it.
divide the dough into equal eight portions. Flatten each portion with roller pin. If you are using kalonji or sesame seeds, just spread little on top of the paratha and roll it. Cook the same in oil or ghee as per your choice as you cook the normal parathas and serve hot with pickle, curd or any accompaniments of your choice.
While making paratha, i always add the mixture to the wheat flour as my children do not like the stuffed parathas.
NOTE: you can make poori also out of this dough.

Some of the health benefits of ripe banana:
A Banana really is a natural remedy
for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein,
twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A
and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in
potassium and is one of the best value foods around.
Bananas contain tryptophan, a type
of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax,
improve your mood and generally make you feel happier. The vitamin B6 it
contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood. High in
iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so
helps in cases of anemia. This unique tropical fruit is extremely high
in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure.
Bananas have a natural antacid
effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for
soothing relief. Snacking on bananas between meals helps to
keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.
