MOONG DAL DHOKLI

Moongdal dhokli is made out of moongdal ground to a fine paste.  I had some soaked moongdal thought of making it and came out  very well.  It has little similarity to the Khandvi.  I adopted a simple method which was worth trying.

Preparation time: 20 minutes.
Cooking time: 10-15 minutes
Serves: 1

Ingredients:

2 tbsp moongdal
2 tbsp curd
A small piece of ginger
½ green chilli
A pinch of asafetida
Salt
1 tsp oil for greasing the plate.

Tempering:

1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp oil
1/2 tsp white seasame seeds (optional) I did not use it.

Garnishing:

A generous pinch of chilli powder, chaat masala and chopped coriander leaves and grated coconut

Method:

1.  Soak the moongdal for 15 minutes.
2.  Drain the water.
3.  Grind to a fine paste with  all the ingredients.
4.  Pour it in the greased plate and steam it for 15 minutes.
5.  Cool it and cut into diagonally to get the shape of kaju katli
6.  Sprinkle the chilli powder, chat masala, coriander leaves and grated coconut

How to serve:

serve with green chutney.'
