Sweet lime pickle sweet and savory version. This pickle can be made instantly. While selecting sweet lime or moSambi, you should choose the same with thin skin. It can be made with sugar as well as salty instantly. I have made pickle out of lemon in the same manner.
INSTANT SWEET LIME PICKLE (SWEET VERSION)
Ingredients:
1 sweet lime
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbsp K pra lime pickle masala powder (heeped)
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp asafoetida powder
Method:
wash and wipe the mosambi. cut the same into small pieces, remove the seeds
now put everything into a mixer and grind to a fine paste.
store in airtight container.
serve with dal rice, molagootal rice, curd rice or with chapati, roti. etc.
SWEET LIME PICKLE (SAVOURY VERSION)
1 sweet lime
1 tbsp K pra lime pickle masala powder (heeped)
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp asafoetida powder
Tempering
2 tbs oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
few curry leaves
Method:
Heat oil in a kadai. add the mustard seeds. when it splutters, add the curry leaves and switch off gas. allow to cool. In the meantime, cut the sweet lime, remove the seeds and chop them finely. add salt,k pra masala lime pickle masala powder. add the cold tadka in it mix well and keep aside for two days. stir in between and keep. when the skin becomes tender, can start using it.
VARIATION: if you do not have K pra lime pickle masala, add 1 tbs of red chilli powder, a bit of asafoetida. you can mustard seed dal also.
