COCONUT CHUTNEY FOR IDLI l DOSA l UPMA l VENPONGAL

Coconut Chutney is made with Coconut, Green Chilli, Roasted Gram, Ginger, Salt etc.  is served with Idli / Dosa / Upma /Vada / Ven pongal.  It is very easy to prepare and tastes good with many dishes mentioned above.








 Let us look at the recipe now:

Time taken: 20-25 minutes
Serves : 2-3

Ingredients:

Coconut - 1/2 grated
Green Chilli - 1 -2 (as per your requirement) 
Roasted gram - 1 tbsp
Small piece of Ginger
Salt

Tempering:

Oil - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Urid dal - 1 tsp
Red chilli - 1 broken into pcs
Asafoetida - a pinch
Curry leaves

Method:

Step 1

Just heat the  Roasted gram in a kadai.  Grate the coconut or cut into pieces as shown in the video.

Step 2

Put everything in the mixer pot and grind.  Add water and grind to a smooth paste.

Step 3

Temper with the ingredients mentioned under tempering

How to serve

Serve with Dosa/Idli/Upma/Ven Pongal/Vada
