BROCOLI, METHI SPROUTS RICE

Hi Viewers, after a long long time, I am back to the blogging and posting recipes.  This recipe is a price winning recipe in which I took part and really happy to share with you all.  This has got a very special ingredient i.e. Methi sprouts which is very good for health and got various medicinal values.

The main key ingredients were Sprouts, Broccoli, Yoghurt.  Normally everyone will use moong, matki etc.  Since every single person is very health conscious now a days, I thought of going for methi sprouts and the result is here.

Since I could not take out the photograph individually, I am posting the same photographs in all the three recipes i.e. Methi Sprouts, broccoli, yoghurt soup, Broccoli, Methi sprouts rice and Methi sprouts broccoli paratha.




Ingredients:

Rice                                                                                               ½ cup (125 gms)
Broccoli                                                                                       100 to 150 gms
Methi sprouts                                                                            35 – 4o gms
Shahi jeera                                                                                 1 tsp
Curd                                                                                              2 tbsp
Chopped Onion                                                                        1
Chopped Tomato                                                                     1
A pinch of turmeric powder
Red chilli powder                                                                    1 tsp
Garam Masala                                                                          ½ tsp
Salt as required.
Oil or ghee                                                                                 3 -4 tbsp + 
                                                                                                      1 tsp butter (optional)
Cashews and badams chopped.                                        5-6 badam/cashew

Garnishing:

Coriander leaves




Method:

Step 1

Wash the rice, add 2-3/4 cup water and pressure cook for 3 whistles in cooker. Take out and spread it on a plate.  The grans should be separate. 

Step 2

Wash the Broccoli florets.  Heat oil or ghee in a kadai put the chopped cashew and almonds, fry and keep aside.  In the same oil put the shahi jeera.  When it splutters, add onion and fry till translucent.  

Step 3

Add tomato, curd, turmeric powder and cook till it is dried up.  

Step 4

Add the broccoli florets, methi seeds and sauté for few minutes.  The crunchiness of the broccoli should be felt.  

Step 5

Add required amount of salt, garam masala, red chilli powder, and mix well for few seconds.   Add the rice and mix well.  Put the butter, fried cashew, almonds, coriander leaves and mix well.

Serve hot with any kind of raita.
