I had bought one pack of jangri for the New Year yesterday. Looking at that in the fridge, as no one was eating ( health conscious), thinking what to do with it. Thought of making kheer out of it. Tell you it was awesome when served chilled.
Today is Vishu. Make this kheer and enjoy.

Look at the recipe now:
Ingredients:
1 big jangri + 1/2 jangri for garnishing
250 ml milk
a pinch of cardamom powder
handful of cashews
handful of badam
7-8 pistachios for garnishing.
sugar 4-5 tsp
Method:
soak the pistas in warm water and remove the skin. chop them.
either soak the badam, cashew in water and grind or just powder them in mixer.
Heat the milk in vessel. break the jangri and put in it along with sugar.
boil till the milk for 10-15 minutes. afterwards, add the badam, cashew powder, cook for 3-4 minutes continuously stirring and remove from stove. transfer it into a bowl. add the cardamom powder. allow to cool. garnish with chopped pistachios and remaining half jangri (break into small pieces). serve chilled.
enjoy this easy and yummy dish today.
