TUVAL DAL NE BAATH, TUVAR PULAO, TUVAR DAL PULAO, PULAO

                                                       
During winter season, you get fresh tuvar.  The taste of this is awesome.  You can either use fresh tuvar or tuvar dal for making this rice.  Garma garam pulao with raita or salad, papad,pickle,  it is really  yummy.  So why are you waiting? Let us begin to cook.



Ingredients:

½ cup basmati rice
¼ cup tuvar dal or fresh tuvar
1 onion finely chopped
½ tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp garam masala
½ tsp ginger garlic paste
1 tej patta
3-4 cloves
7-8 cashews cut into pieces
Salt as required
2 tsp oil
2 tsp ghee

Garnishing:

Coriander leaves
1 green chilli slit.
1 onion cut  thinly lengthwise.
Method:

Wash the rice and dal or fresh tuvar and keep aside for half an hour.
Heat  1 tsp oil and 2 tsp ghee in a kadai,  fry the cashews and keep aside.
In the same oil, add the tej patta, cloves, then add the chopped onion, ginger garlic paste,  sauté for 2-3 minutes.
Add the rice and tuvar and sauté for 5 minutes.
Add the masalas viz. chilli powder, garam masala, salt , sauté for another two minutes.
Add  two and half glass  hot water in it and cook till it is done. 
If you feel that the rice is not cooked, add little hot water, cover and cook.
When it is done, transfer to a bowl.

In another kadai,  heat the oil and fry the onions, add the green chilli, sauté for a minute and garnish it on the tuvar baath along with coriander leaves.
