Burger is one of the fast food liked by kids and adults. But for weight watchers, you cannot afford to fill the same with lot of cheese and other rich items in it. Here is a burger made with kabuli chana, hung curd, onion with vegetables and for cheese lovers with cheese.
Let us see the recipe now:
Burger buns - 2 nos ( i used ready made one available in the market)
Boiled kabuli chana 1/2 cup
onion 1 large chopped
chopped coriander leaves -3 tbsp
salt as requierd
chilli powder 1/4 tsp or chopped green chilli 1 (according to your spice level)
garam masala 1/2 tsp
Mayonnaise - 2 tbsp
cheese slice - 2nos (amul, britania)
lettuce leaves - 2 nos or
tender patta ghobi leaves - 2 nos
cuumber sliced 3-6 pcs
carrots grated - 2 tbsp or 4 slices
Tomato - 2 slices
oil for shallow frying + oil for frying onion
Method:
Crush the boiled kabuli chana in the mixer and keep aside
Heat one tsp oil in kadai, add the chopped onion, and little salt and saute the same for few seconds. add the red chilli powder or green chilli, garam masala and saute for another few seconds. allow to cool and add them to the crushed chana, coriander leaves. salt as required. Mix all these well and divide into two portions. and make tikkis out of it. shallow fry them till it is done.
Cut the bun in the centre.
Place one lettuce leaf or patta ghobi (cabbag leaf) on the bun, place the tikki on it.
apply some mayonnaise on it, keep the vegetables one by one and grated carrots on top.
Now place the slice of cheese and cover with the top side of the burger bun. serve with some sauce.
For making mayonnaise:
2-3 tbsp hung curd, 1/4 tsp mustard powder, bit of salt, 1 tsp olive oil.
Mix all the ingredients together
My children do not like the mayonnaise available in the market hence i prepare using the above method.
Note: You can add boiled and mashed banana in the tikki.
