PULIYODARE SPICE POWDER l PULIYOGARE SPICE POWDER l TAMARIND RICE SPICE POWDER

Here I am presenting the Spice powder for making Puliyodare/Puliyogare/Tamarind Rice.  It is very easy to make and can store it in airtight container. All you have to do is roast the spices and powder it. If you are using kopra, keep it in fridge.





Let us look at the recipe now:


Ingredients:

2 Tbsp Coriander seeds
1 Tbsp Chana dal
5-6 Red chilli (adjust according to your spice level)
1 Tsp Urad dal
1/4 Tsp Fenugreek seeds
1/4 Tsp Black pepper
1/4 Tsp Cumin seeds
1 Tbsp Sesame seeds
2 Tbsp Dried khopra grated (optional)
1 Tsp Oil


Method:

Step 1

Heat oil in kadai, roast the  Red chilli and transfer it into a plate. Now roast the Coriander, Urad dal, Fenugreek, Black pepper, Sesame seeds,  Cumin seeds, Khopra separately.  Allow to cool.  Mix everything and make powder of it cool it in airtight container.

Your spice powder for making PULIYODARE  l PULIYOGARE   l TAMARIND RICE  is ready.


METHOD OF PREPARING RICE:


While preparing Rice, according to the quantity of rice you want to make, take Tamarind and soak in hot water.  Take out the pulp and use it for making the Rice with Spice powder.
 
For four servings:  
 
Take a large lemon size ball tamarind soak it in hot water and extract pulp. Heat 2-3 tsp  oil in kadai, add mustard seeds. when it splutters, add peanuts if you wish along with curry leaves.  Then add the tamarind extract and bring to boil.  Put little Turmeric powder in it.  When it comes to boil, add one tsp jaggery, the spice powder and mix well and cook till it thickens.  Then add the rice in it and mix well.  The paste should be added according to the quantity of rice.
 
NOTE:  Red chilli add according to the requirement of spice level you can tolerate.
