ALOO TIKKI

Aloo tikki is made out of aloo or potato.  It is a nice snack as well as chat item.  Aloo chaat, ragada pattice etc. can be made out of this and is loved by one and all  in Mumbai.  The tikki can be had with some sweet chutney or sauce and the ragada pattice can enjoyed with sweet, green and thikka chutney with lots of onion and coriander topped on it.




Let us look at the recipe now.

3 medium size potato boiled, peeled and mashed.
2 tbsp green peas boiled and crushed
1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
1 tsp chaat masala
1/2 tsp chilli powder or chopped green chilli
1/4 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp lemon juice
salt as per taste
oil

Method:

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl except oil and make a dough out of it.  divide into equal portions.  make small ball and press between your palms and shape them well.  heat a non stick tava, apply little oil and cook them till golden brown from both the sides. serve hot with sauce, chutney.

Variation:  Place two  tikki in a plate.  top it with little beaten curd, sweet chutney, theeka chutney, green chutney, green-chutney-coriander-chutney. chopped onion, tomato and coriander leaves.  sprinkle some chaat masala, black salt, roasted cumin powder, garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve.
