The rice which I made was excellent with the lotus seed. I am quite lazy to write a big story about the dish and must have noticed that most of my recipes are narrated shortly. Here I have no patients to write about it as I have already described about the lotus and seed in the Soup and Subzi recipe.
Now straight away, we will have quick look at the recipe.
Time taken: 1 hr
serves: 1
Ingredients:
1/4 cup rice or cooked rice 1 cup
2 lotus seed
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1 onion chopped
1 tsp white sesame seed
2 tbsp grated coconut
2 lavang (cloves)
1 dalchini
1 tej patta
1/4 tsp black pepper powder
2 tsp ghee
few curry leaves
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 garlic (optional)
1 small piece ginger (optional)
1 small potato cubed and fried.(optional)
few cashew nuts (optional)
salt
coriander leaves.
Method:
Wash the lotus seed and grind to a smooth paste in the mixer. It will not be in a paste form but in a crumbled state. Heat ghee in kadai. put the tej patta, cloves, dalchini in it. put the mustard seeds. when it splutters add the sesame seed. when it is done, add chopped onion and saute till translucent.
no add the ground seed in it and mix well. add the masalas, mix well. add the cooked rice, salt mix well. garnish with coconut and chopped coriander leaves
How to serve:
serve hot with any kind of raita, papad
