Spicy snacks with a cup of tea/coffee during the rainy season is always welcome. But normal days also, you can enjoy the snacks with the coffee/tea.
I am always in search of new snack recipes which can be made easily withe the available ingredients at home.
I was having four slices of bread so thought of making this vada. Mix up of few ingredients here and there makes an innovative recipe and that is the best one you must have made in a hurry sometimes.
Let us look at the recipe now:
Time taken: 1 hr
serves 3-4
Ingredients:
1/4 cup chana dal
4 slices of brown bread
1 green chilli chopped
1 green chilli
1 red chilli
a generous pinch of hing powder
salt
1 onion finely chopped
1 tbsp rice powder
2 tbps chopped green coriander
oil for deep frying.
Method:
1. Wash and soak the chana dal for 30 minutes
2. grind together the chana dal, green chilli and red chilli to a coarse paste.
3. cut the bread into pieces, put them in mixer and make powder out of it.
4. In a mixing bowl, put the chana dal paste, chopped green chilli, hing powder, onion, rice powder, green coriander, salt etc. and make dough out of it.
5. pinch out lemon size balls, flatten it with your palm and deep fry.
How to serve:
serve hot with sauce and chutney.
