Varieties of Parathas are made by North Indian. Hot parathas of any kind, is very tasty and liked by all. I happened to have the aloo paratha soaked in ghee ( i mean a lot of ghee was put in while cooking the same) along with Maa ki dal once when we went out in a Punjabi restaurant in a Mall. It was awesome minus the ghee which I could not digest as we use very less oil and ghee. But those who are loving it that way, it is divine.
I made the bread paratha today because I had four slices of left over bread and was thinking what to do for the breakfast. Since parathas are liked by my children very much, I decided to try this bread methi paratha and it was awesome with curd and sauce.
Let us look at the recipe now:
Preparation time; 15 minutes
cooking time: 30-45 minutes
yield : 08 parathas.
Main Ingredients:
1 cup wheat flour
4 slices of brown bread
1tsp rava
Masalas:
1 tsp garam masala powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp green chilli paste
1/2 tsp ginger paste
1./2 tsp garlic paste
Others:
1/4 cup methi leaves chopped
1/4 tsp ajwain
a pinch of cooking soda
salt as required
2 tbs curd
Method:
break the bread and put in mixer, ground to a fine powder. In a mixing bowl, add the bread powder, wheat flour, rava, salt, cooking soda, mix well. add the masalas, mix well. now add the curd, methi leaves, ajwain, mix well. add water little by little and make a dough out of it. divide into equal parts. roll out the parathas.
heat tava and cook both the sides by applying oil or ghee as you wish.
How to serve:
serve hot with sauce, pickle, curd
Note; the same dough can be used for making puri too. minus the masalas and methi leaves, bhatura.

ReplyDeletewhen the bread is toasted or fried, you know how it tastes. slightly that kind of taste comes when you make puri and the paratha. I can't explain the taste, you have to eat and feel it. My daughter ate the puri and said it is awesome getting the taste of burger.
