RIPE BANANA HALVA

Halva is not liked by children and never bothered to eat that whenever I make it.  They will taste and say yes it is good or bad can post or not that is all.

Banana halva is easy to make and a lovely side dish for chapati.  I love to eat banana halva and chapati.

After the Satyanarayana pooja at home, around a dozen bananas were lying in the fruit tray and nobody wants to eat because it is over ripe.  I was thinking of making banana halva since so many days, so got the chance to try my hand on it.

When I started peeling it, I realised that four out of the 12 are very bad.  So I got 8 out of them.

Now let us look at the recipe now:

Ingredients:

8 ripe bananas ( you can use nendran pazham or the normal robusta)  here it is robusta
3/4 to 1 cup sugar as per your requirement.
3/4 cup to 1 cup ghee
dry fruits chopped
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
1 to 1 1/2 tsp corn flour.

Method:

Mash the bananas well or just pulse it in mixer for few seconds along with sugar.  Heat ghee in kadai.  add the banana and stir for few minutes.  add the sugar and cook till it reduced to a great extent.  Now mix the corn flour in little milk and add to the banana.  continue the process of cooking till it starts leaving the sides of the kadai and become a huge ball.  add half the dry fruits in it, mix well. grease a plate with ghee and transfer the same on the plate, spread it evenly with the help of back of a spoon.  spread the remaining dry fruits on top of it.  allow to cool for an hour.  cut into desired shape and serve.
