DOSA

For making dosa we can use the boiled rice as well as raw rice.   Dosa can be served for breakfast, evening snacks or dinner.  If you give me dosa any time, I am ready to eat with sambar, chutney, rasam etc.

 Here I have used the Surti Kolam rice, urid dal, tur dal and fenugreek seeds for making the batter.







Let us look at the recipe now:

Ingredients:

1 cup raw rice
1/4 cup urid dal
5-6 fenugreek seeds
1tbsp tur dal
1 tsp poha, pressed rice or cooked rice
1/2 tsp sugar
salt as per taste
oil

Method:

Wash and soak the rice, urid dal, fenugreek seeds, tur dal for two hours.  grind to a smooth paste. add salt, mix well and   keep it for fermentation for 5-6 hours.  Just before making dosa, add the sugar  and mix well. 

Heat a dosa pan apply little oil, wipe with a kitchen towel.  pour one laddleful of batter and spread the same in circular motion.  drizzle some oil on it.  when one side is cooked, flip to cook other side too.  serve hot with chutney,  sambar.
