TAVA DAL ROTI

I had left over chapati and dal of the previous day in the fridge.  Since the dal was very tasty, I did not feel like wasting it by simply throwing it in the dustbin.  Further, I was very lazy to  make food on that particular day, I decided to make use of this left over dal and roti.

Used very simple items which are available at home and very easily could make it.  You have to serve this very hot I mean tava to the plate to relish this.  Things are not wasted at the same time getting a new recipe and dish for you which is very healthy too.

Let us look at the recipe now:

Cuisine: Indian (fusion/left over items, best out of waste)
Serves: 2


Ingredients:

3 rotis ( I had phulkas)
1 1/2  cup dal (you can use plain dal or tomato dal)
1 onion chopped
coriander leaves
1 tsp pav bhaji masala or pickle gravy ( i used besan ghatte ki achar gravy)
1 tomato finely chopped
hing powder
salt, if required
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
2 tsp ghee

Garnishing:

1 onion chopped
coriander leaves
Grated cheese (optional)

Method:

1.  Heat the ghee in tava.  add the chopped onions. saute for few minutes till translucent.  Add the tomatoes and cook till mushy.  Add the dal.

2.  Break the roti into small pieces or cut the same into stripes and cut into diamond shaped add to the dal.

3.  Add the pav bhaji masala, red chilli powder, hing powder  or the achar gravy in it, mix well.



 Add few chopped  coriander leaves, mix well till the same is incorporated well in it. check salt, if need  be, add.



4. Remove from the tava to plate.  Garnish with ingredients mentioned under garnishing.

How to serve:

Serve Hot with grated cheese (if you wish)

Note:  You can add some roasted peanuts and nylon sev  with chopped onions while serving instead of cheese
