Who will say no to sweet dishes, especially, halva. Today I prepared papaya halva. I have already posted raw papaya halva in the blog. Here is the ripe papaya version halva which I am sharing. I have also shared the same with www.simpleindianrecipes.com, but this recipe is with slight variation.
A nice sweet dish with dry fruits is heavenly.

Let us look at the recipe now:
Ingredients:
1 Cup Papaya pulp
1 Cup milk
10-15 almonds - make coarse powder of it.
4-5 tsp Sugar
a pinch cardamom powder
3-4 tsp ghee
5-6 Cashews broken.
Method:
1. Chop 220 gms ripe papaya and make pulp out of it. yields around 1 cup.
2. heat 1 tsp ghee in kadai, fry the cashews and keep aside.
3. Pour the remaining ghee in the kadai, when it becomes hot, add the papaya pulp in it, cook the same till the water is evaporated and mass is formed.
4. Add the milk, sugar, almond powder, and cook till it starts leaving the kadai.
5. Add the cardamom powder serve hot or cold as you wish garnished with the fried cashews.
Preparation time: 10 minutes
cooking time: 30 minutes
yield : can be served for 2-3 persons
