TAMARIND FLOWER MANGO PACHADI

Pachadi is made out of any kind of vegetables viz. mango, pumpkin, raw papaya etc.  Here I am sharing with you all an unusual recipe i.e. with tamarind flower.  The blend of mango, coconut with green chilli, mustard seed and cumin seeds make this pachadi more tasty.   Tamarind flower is also equally sour like the tamarinds.  I had made the chutney with   the tender leaves too  tender-tamarind-wild-lime-curry-leaves, tamarind flower chutney, tamarind flower rasam.     Also try the tamarind flower rasam, tamarind flower chutney.   This can be served with rice, chapati, upma etc.

Let us look at the recipe now:

Ingredients:

One ripe  mango chopped
1/2 cup tamarind flower
1/4 coconut grated
3 green chilli
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
turmeric powder
1 tsp jaggery
salt

Tempering:

1 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds
1 red chilli broken
few curry leaves


Method:

Heat 1 1/4 cup water.  Add tamarind flower, mango chopped, jaggery, turmeric powder, salt and cook.
Grind the coconut, green chilli, mustard, cumin seeds to a fine paste and keep aside.  You can add bit of mango pieces and flower along with the grinding ingredients.  when the flower and mango is cooked, add the ground paste, bring to boil and remove from gas.  temper with the ingredients mentioned under tempering and serve hot with rice, chapati, idli, dosa etc.
