CHINESE IDLI

Chinese items are favourite of all children including adults.  Somehow, I never tasted  the noodles and the Chinese items it till such time my daughter forced me to eat this in a party.  There were Chinese noodles, fried rice and Manchurian.  Since she was forcing me to eat, I happened to taste the noodles.  I always prefer to eat the food hot hot so I liked it.  Then she was forcing me to eat the fried rice and the Manchurian.  On her insistence, I tasted that too on that day and that was the beginning of making fried rice, Manchurian and hakka noodles at home by me.

JUNGLEE SANDWICH

Junglee sandwich is  one of my favorite dish  for breakfast or as evening snacks.  It is very easy to make if you have some vegetables and curd at home with bread.  It is a healthy snacks, quite filling and will be liked by the children as well as adults.  Once you eat this, then  it  is DIL MAANGE MORE.

PAV BHAJI

Pav Bhaji, a mixture of almost all the vegetables, a popular street food in Mumbai  is a special  dish, enjoyed by everyone.  When you pass through the stall, you will never step forward without eating this dish as it is quite tempting.  The hot bhaji with buttered pav is sufficient enough to fill your stomach either for breakfast, lunch, evening or at dinner time.  We all love this specially my children.

Pav Bhaji is a Mumbai Street food relished  by small children to old people.
Yesterday my maid did not turn up for making chapati as she was unwell.  As soon as I came from office, my son was telling me "I feel like eating Pav bhaji".  I also happily agreed to make this as this is the only way to make him eat all the vegetables.

While making bhaji, i ensure that almost all the vegetables are given an entry into this dish

KALAN, YAM CURRY WITH YOGHURT AND COCONUT MASALA

Kaalan is a traditional dish of Kerala.  Mostly, this is prepared during a feast or festival like Onam.  Normal days also it is made and had with steamed rice or Kanji.  Only one vegetable viz. Yam or elephant foot or chenai it is called, or Nendran kaya the one which is available in Kerala for making chips.  Its tastes awesome if you like little bit of tanginess in your curry.  It is a thick curry and sour than the Avial.

PEARS PICKLE

Pears pickle is easy to make.  You should have very firm pears.  I love pickle of any kind and keep on trying it with anything and everything.   I happened to purchase green apple which was very very sour and no sweetness at all.  everyone at home refused to eat it.  I cannot waste the same, so made pickle out of it.  Like that i tried this one too and was liked by all. Here is the recipe of apple pickle.

If you have guests and do not have pickle, you can make this immediately provided you have this at home.
