CONDENSED MILK

Condensed milk is used in almost all the sweetmeats.  It is very easy to prepare at home without much hassles.  If you run out of your stock of the store bought condensed milk, do not worry, you can try this recipe and will forget buying the store ones. 

I wanted to make the tender coconut falooda and the stock was over.   I thought of trying it at home as one of my friend who had gone to cooking class  shared the recipes which she had.  The ingredients are easily available at home and can be made within 45 minutes maximum.





Now let us look at the recipe now:

Ingredients:

500 ml full cream milk ( i used gokul milk)
100 gms sugar
a generous pinch of baking soda.

Method:

In a kadai, pour 1 tbs of water and then empty the milk packet in it.
Bring to a boil.  When it starts boiling, add the sugar and baking soda and cook the same till you get one string consistency. It tends to become thick as it becomes cold,  hence I would suggest to switch off the gas as soon you feel that it has reached the one thread consistency.
While cooking, in between you have to keep on stirring it.  after 45 minutes, your condensed milk is ready.  Cool and  use.
