I am coming out with yet another pickle recipe which is with a fruit. Black seedless grapes are available now and I tried the pickle with it. Since it was very sweet, I had to add extra chilli powder to balance it with vinegar.
Since the grapes are very soft, it will not take much time to make this recipe. If refrigerated, will remain for 3-4 days but before that you must have finished the entire lot as you will love them.
This can be served with dal rice, curd rice, paratha etc. Now the season is of pickle, I am concentrating more on pickles.
Let us look at the recipe now:
Time taken: less than 10 minutes.
Yield : 1/2 cup
Ingredients:
100 gms black seedless grapes
1 tsp chilli powder
a pinch of asafoetida
few curry leaves
3 tbsp vinegar
1/2 to 3/4 tsp salt
a generous pinch of rai dana
3-4 tsp o il
OPTIONAL:
1 chopped green chilli
3-4 garlic cloves
a small piece of ginger chopped
Method:
1. Remove the grapes from the stem. wash and wipe them with kitchen towel.
2. Heat oil in kadai.
3. Add the curry leaves, when the colour chages, add the vinegar, asafoetida.
4. Add the grapes, turmeric powder and saute for a minute of two.
5. Add salt, red chilli powder, mix well and switch off gas.
6. Keep it in the kadai for sometime. In the heat of the kadai, it will become soft.
How to serve:
serve with rice, paratha etc.
Note: If you are adding Optional items, add it after adding the curry leaves.
