TOMATO OMLETTE

Tomato omlette is basically made out of gram flour or besan it is known as with onion, tomato, coriander  leaves etc.  It is a very tasty breakfast as it is or you can make it with bread as sandwich.  Since all the ingredients are available at home any time, this can be made so easily.




Let us look at the recipe now:

Ingredients:

1 cup besan
2 medium size tomato finely chopped
1 medium size onion finely chopped
1/2 inch ginger
1 green chilli
1/4 cup coriander leaves finely chopped
1/4 tsp red chilli powder
1.5 cup to 2 cups of water (adjust accordingly)
1/4 tsp garam masala powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
a pinch of asafoetida
a pinch of ajwain
salt
oil

Method:

In a bowl, mix all the items except oil and water.  Add water little by little to form a batter not too watery and not too thick.  keep aside for 10 minutes.

Heat a non stick pan.  smear with oil.  add one laddleful of batter on the tava and spread slightly.  drizzle oil around the omlette.  cook both the sides till brown spots appears and cooked well.  serve hot with sauce or as it is or with green chutney.
