LEFT OVER RICE THALIPEETH

Very often, you are confused what to do with the left over rice.  Finally, you end up making the curd rice, phodni bhath, lime rice, coconut rice etc. with it.

Here is an easy and tasty thalipeeth recipe with the left over rice.  I made it with two main ingredients i.e. the left over rice and suji.

You can serve it as a snack item with some chutney, pickle or sambhar as it is made with rice.click here for the video.

Preparation time:  10 minutes,  Cooking time: 10 minutes, serve: 1

Ingredients:

3/4 cup left over rice
2 tbsp suji/rava
1 medium size onion finely chopped
2 tbsp coriander leaves chopped
1 green chilli chopped
generous pinch of asafoetida
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
4 -5 spinach leaves
1/4 tsp black pepper crushed.
salt
oil

Method:

Step 1

soak the suji in a teaspoon or two water and keep aside.  grind the rice with a tablespoon of water.

Step 2

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl  and divide it into two portion.

Step 3

Heat tava.  smear with little oil.  wet your palm and place one portion on the tava.  spread it with your palm.  If sticking, wet your palm again and spread.put four to five hole in the middle of the thalipeeth.  drizzle oil.  cook both the sides till golden brown in medium heat.

How to serve:

serve hot with sauce, chutney or sambhar.

Note:  You can also add carrot, beetroot, etc. grated in it and masalas of your choice.
