CHINESE BREAD

Children as well as adults are crazy about chinese food.  I am not very fond of it but occasionally, I eat only fried rice and manchurian.  I cannot stand for the noodles somehow. 

I tried chinese bread recipe as I had some bread left with me and the sides of the bread after cutting for sandwich.   You can include all kinds of vegetables in it as everyone would love to eat this.

The crunchiness of vegetables and the crunchy bread crumbs in it make this dish delicious.  If you have the vegetables and bread in hand, this is an easy snack for the guests who arrive in your house without any notice.

You can either deep fry the bread or shallow fry the same with little ghee to make it crispy.

Now et us look at the recipe:

Ingredients:

4 slices of bread
2 tbsp red chilli sauce
2 tbsp tomato sauce
1 tsp soya sauce
1/2 tsp white pepper powder (if you do not have this, use black pepper powder)

1 big onion or 2 medium size onion sliced
1 green capsicum thinly sliced
1 red capsicum thinly sliced
1 yellow capsicum thinly sliced
1 small carrot thinly cut into  1" long pcs
1/4 cup cabbage thinly chopped
1 tsp finely chopped garlic
1/2 tsp finely chopped ginger
salt as required
Oil for frying the bread

3 tbsp oil

2 tbsp ghee

Garnishing:

2 tbsp chopped onion greens

Method:

Step 1

cut the bread slices into thin strips into 1" pcs and deep fry in oil if you want to deep fry.  If you are shallow frying put a tablespoon of ghee and fry them which will take some time. keep aside.

Step 2

Mix the soya sauce, chilli sauce, tomato sauce pepper powder keep aside.

Step 3

Heat oil in kadai.  Put the garlic in it. saute for few seconds add the ginger,saute for a second, add the onion, saute till 3/4 done add the capsicum, tomato, carrot and saute well.  Add salt, sauce paste and mix well.  The process should be in  medium high flame.  The vegetables should cook at the same time should retain the crunchiness. Add the cabbage, saute for few seconds.

Step 3

Now add the fried bread, half of the onion greens, mix well.  Your chinese bread is ready to serve.

How to serve;

Add the remaining onion greens while serving.  Serve hot.


Note:  Red/Yellow capsicum is optional.  saucy consistency according to your wish increase it.  
If you are frying the bread in ghee, it will take some time hence keep it ready before you prepare the vegetables.
