Kanda poha bhakri I made today with left over kanda poha. It was tasty with a spicy mix veg curry. I used to make paratha out of it when the left over kanda poha is in fridge. Today, I thought of trying bhakri and was quite successful in making it.
I had also made tikki out of it which has been posted under snack recipes.
You can also apply oil and make it like you make the tava chapati.
without much boring you, I straight away come to the recipe.
Kanda Poha Bhakri with mix veg curry |
Time taken: 45 minutes
yield : 6
Ingredients:
1 bowl of kanda poha
1/2 cup rice flour
1/2 cup water
a generous pinch of salt
1/2 tsp oil
little hot water to sprinkle on the poha
rice flour for dusting.
Butter for applying on top of the bhakri if you wish.
Method:
If the kanda poha is in fridge, bring to room temperature. sprinkle little hot water and knead it or you can steam the poha. Boil the water by adding salt and oil. switch off gas and remove the vessel from stove. add the rice flour, mix well without forming any lump in it. cover and keep for half an hour. now add the poha and the rice dough and knead well.
divide into equal balls. use some rice flour for dusting. I rolled it out on a piece of plastic sheet. roll it on the sheet the way you make the bhakri or roti. Heat non stick tava in medium heat. put the bhakri and cook from both the sides till you get small brown and black spots on it. remove from tava and directly cook for a minute flipping both the sides.
how to serve:
put some butter and serve with any spicy curry immediately.
