RAW TAMARIND CHUTNEY, PACHA PULI THOGAYAL

I have already posted one recipe of raw-tamarind-chutney-pacha-puli-chutney. Here is another simple and easy, tasty  chutney.

Let us look at the recipe now:

Ingredients:

8-10 raw tamarind
8-10 green chilly
1 tsp white sesame seeds
a pinch of asafoetida
salt
oil

for tempering:

1 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
a small piece of red chilli
curry leaves.

Method:

wash and pat dry the tamarind.  cut them, remove seeds if any.  Heat kadai dry roast the white sesame seeds. remove and cool.  heat  2 tsp oil in kadai, saute the chopped tamarind till soft. cool. add everything together and grind to a coarse paste of smooth paste as per your choice.  temper with the ingredients. serve with hot rice, sesame seed oil.
