AVAL ADAI, POHA ADAI, BEATENRICE ADAI

Poha or beaten rice adai is  very easy to make.  If you have time, then you can soak  the dal for an hour or you can soak it in hot water for 30 minutes. then soaking poha is easy as it does not take much time. 

You can make this adai bit spicy and should be served hot with chutney or sambhar.  It is an alternate method of the normal rice adai which we make at home.

An easy and tasty breakfast. You can also add veggies like grated carrot, beetroot etc. in it for making it more healthy.

Let us look at the recipe now:







Ingredients:

1 cup poha
1/2  cup moong dal
1/4  cup  tuvar  dal
1/4 cup chana dal
1/4 cup rice flour
2sprigs of curry leaves
asafoetida
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 small piece ginger
2 green chilli
2 red chlli

 2 tbsp coconut bits
1 onion chopped
salt as required

Method:

Step 1

Wash and soak the  dal  separately for 30 minutes.  You can do so for  one  hour also.  Soak the poha separately.  

Step 2

Grind the dal first in mixer along with green chilli, red chilli, ginger, black pepper, curry leaves,cumin seeds  etc.  for a minute. then add the soaked poha and grind to a coarse/smooth paste as you wish.  Add the rice flour and mix well.


Step 3

Transfer the atta in a bowl, mix the asafoetida, salt, coconut bits, onion chopped.  The consistency of the batter should be slightly thicker than the dosa batter.


Step 4

Heat the tava and drizzle some oil. Pour a laddleful of batter  on the tava and spread. drizzle some oil cook both the sides. your poha adai is ready.

How to serve:

serve hot  with chutney or sambhar.
