When you are bored of eating the same stuff for a long time, a change is always better. Here is a chutney powder with moongdal instead of the thogayal form.
As I was having only a quarter cup of moongdal left in the bottle, and want something spicy along with the dal rice, I tried this chutney powder and was liked by me colleagues too for lunch.
It is a simple preparation within a short span of time provided you have the items with you.
Let us look at the recipe now:
Ingredients:
1/4 cup moongdal
2-3 red chilli\
small piece of tamarind
asafoetida
dry coconut 2 tbsp
salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 or 2 garlic flakes (optional)
few curry leaves.
Method:
Step 1
Dry roast the moongdal and red chilli. dry roast the curry leaves too. slightly roast the black pepper and the tamarind too.
Step 2
Put everything in a mixer and powder it.
How to serve:
Serve with dal rice, curd rice, molagootal rice, dosa and idli too.
