Dill Leaves Idli is made out of dill leaves and idli batter. It is quite easy to prepare and good for health. The steaming hot idli with sambar or chutney is a good breakfast for all provided you develop the taste of this leafy vegetable.

Let us look at the recipe now:
Time taken: 30 minutes
Serves: 1
Ingredients:
1 cup

Idli batter
|
¼ cup
|
Suva/dill leaves
|
2

Green chillies chopped
|
1
|
Small piece of ginger chopped
|
½ tsp
|
Crushed black pepper and cumin seeds
|
2 tbsp
|
Grated coconut or coconut bits
|
2
|
Garlic cloves
|
Tempering: (optional)
1 tsp
|
Oil
|
1 tsp
|
Mustard seeds
|
1 tsp
|
Urid dal
|
Few
|
Curry leaves
|
Generous pinch of asafetida
|
Method:
1. Wash and put the dill leaves, green chilli, ginger, garlic in a mixer and grind to a smooth paste.
2. Add this paste to the idli batter.
3. Temper with the ingredients mentioned under tempering and put in the batter.
4. Add the grated coconut/bits, black pepper and cumin seeds, mix well.
5. Grease the idli mould and pour the idli batter in it, steam cook for 15 minutes.
6. Allow to cool and demould the same from the idli plate.
How to serve:
Serve hot with Chutney/sambar.
Note: You can also make uttappam with this batter.
